Free telc A1 Mock Exam – Hören

The A1 Hören section (Start Deutsch 1) has three parts and 15 tasks, and takes about 20 minutes. In Teil 1 you hear six short everyday conversations, for example at the pharmacy, in a shop or on the phone with a friend, and for each one you choose the right picture or answer: a, b or c. You hear each conversation twice. In Teil 2 you hear four public announcements, at a station, in a department store or at the airport, and decide whether a statement is richtig or falsch. Here you hear each text only once, so read the statement before the audio starts. In Teil 3 you hear five short texts, such as messages on an answering machine, and choose a, b or c. Again you hear each one twice.

Below you can try one practice task for each part, with the audio in the exam format. The most useful habit at A1 is to read the question first and listen for that one detail: a time, a price, a place or a day. The other details in the recording are there to distract you. Play the audio, answer every task, then check your answers. You will see straight away which ones are right. Goethe-Zertifikat A1 and telc Deutsch A1 are the same exam, so the practice fits both.
